Charice 'Pyramid' Feat. Iyaz -- New Song

'Pyramid' is Charice's second international single (the first being 'Note to God'). Penned by Swedish songwriter David Jassy, the R&B love song features Charice's JoJo-sounding voice with splices of Iyaz's Island Pop phrases (a similar style to his chart-topping hit 'Replay').

Like Justin Bieber, Charice generated popularity through YouTube, gaining recognition after being featured on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' and 'Oprah.' She was even invited to perform a special duet at New York City's Madison Square Garden with Celine Dion as part of Dion's Taking Chances Tour. Charice has two Philippine-released albums: her 2008 eponymous debut and 2009's 'My Inspriation.'

5. Apparently, the producers(not David Foster) fixed her voice up in this song to sound "current". Hence, the "jojo" and other female RNB artists sound to it...

It's okay. Once she gets established, her records will sound more like herself.

6. If you've listened to Charice more than once, then you'll understand that her voice is extremely versatile. She can sound Jojo-esque, or she can sound like Whitney Houston - depending on what the song calls for. That is a trademark of a genius vocalist.

7. charice is a once in a generation voice ,she is the best live singer right now .jojo is a good singer but its not even close .when u have time view her on you tube all over the world especially italy singing in italian u will be amazed,u will not be disapointed.

9. Sky is the limit for this very talented 17 year old girl. Charice can sing any song, any genre. She sang Adagio LIVE in Italy which she learned & memorized in just 2 days!I love this song PYRAMID, very catchy and radio-friendly... great collaboration between 2 talented artists.. thank you for adding it to your play list.

10. WHY compare her with jojo? did you hear charice's rendition of note to god, vis a vis that of jojo's? CHARICE is far far better than any other singing artists and she can even outdo the originals.
re: pyramid, this charice-iyaz collaboration is so cool, and i don't tire listening and dancing to the music.

12. With no disrespect to Jojo and Jordin, whom I both like, Charice's voice is in a completely different league from theirs. Pyramid is a pure pop song, targeted at a young crowd. You do not get the full effect of the greatness of her voice on this song; just like Whitney on I Wanna Dance With Somebody. But look her up on Youtube singing Listen, Bodyguard Medley, One Moment in Time, Alone, I Believe, etc. You will see that her voice is a rare and magnificent gift, the best since Whitney. She will astound the world for years to come with her vocal skills.

13. Hey AOL, why the need to compare Charice's voice to another singer? Charice is a versatile singer. Aside from ballads she can do RNB too, and it just so happens that there are similarities. People who read this will think she's just copying, which is completely false.

14. this song is so great!! she really sounds jojo but you'd finally distinguish its charice on the chorus part and when she belts out as what she usually does. Cant wait for her debut CD to be released. Check her music video with Iyaz on you tube..it's cool!

15. sometimes people can be harsh...depends on background, understanding, and state of mind at the present.
Charice is a good kid with equally great potentials as any singers out there. She needed a break and its coming. people's acceptance is relative based on the above statement. just keep an open mind and enjoy this kid's gift. the video is simple and honest showing more of the talents of these two artists rather than gimmicky visual even sexually exploited very common MV we all see nowadays...besides, an official video is in the making. the song is clean and appropriate. popular does not mean always right. this kid Charice can do more than this type of song. do not be biased ...again keep an open mind! wouldn't you like to have a break too?

17. I agree with all the observations. I dont really like Charice when she is always belting out because I pity the girl trying to please those who like big songs. I think we should give her a chance to settle where her natural talents take her. I admire her tremendous versatility and of course stage presence and confidence in singing. I like Pyramid very much without much contraptions as described here. But I guess a very good MTV minus the uncessary contraptions, will do the album good in attracting more people to listen to her music and appreciate her as a talented artist.

18. Charice has an incredible voice but she needs to stick to singing with Orchestras and appeal to older people cuz she is not cool enough to be a pop star. She needs to be more like Charlotte Church when she was a teenager. Go on tour with Celine Dion or something. JoJo can sing her a** off too but her style is different. She is cooler and appeals more to pop culture.

27. Charice has many different voices. Americans are more familiar with her power voice. But she has a more gentle voice that's characteristic of singers from her country.
